Medical Examination Results For Pre-Placement Examinations Applicants will be assigned one of the following medical status designations by either a contract physician (using OHP guidelines and results form) or an OHP physician: 1) No Restrictions/Pass: This indicates that no restrictions are needed for the job being offered, and the applicant is medically cleared for employment. 2) Restricted: Restrictions are most commonly placed on an applicant to prevent imminent and serious injury to self or others. Restrictions may also be used to describe an applicant's physical inability to perform a given task. In either case, our staff will try to make any restrictions as specific as possible to the job duties of the applicant's classification. Upon receipt of these restrictions, the hiring department must make a determination as to whether reasonable accommodation is possible. 3) Fail: This status designation is assigned to applicants who do not meet the medical guidelines for a particular classification. 4) OHP Review: This status designation indicates that we have received the applicant's examination records from the contractor, but our staff has not yet made a medical status determination. In general, our staff should be able to make a medical status determination within a week of our receipt of records. 5) Deferred: This status designation indicates that our staff has requested that the applicant provide further medical information, obtain further medical testing, and/or, that an observation period must occur before a final decision can be made. The applicant's status cannot be further reviewed by our staff until the applicant satisfies our request. 6) Overweight: This status designation is used for applicants whose only problem is failure to meet to the weight or body fat standard for certain classifications Results are valid for 12 months from the date of the examination. |
