The Faith-Based Organizations (FBOs) Collaboration Council (FBOCC) was created by the County's New Directions Task Force on April 11, 2000 to "…further collaboration between FBOs and Los Angeles County health and human service departments…." Comprised of representatives of the County's health and human services departments and faith community leaders, the FBOCC represents one of the County's efforts to implement the Charitable Choice provision (Section 104) of the 1996 Welfare Reform Law. The long-range goal of the FBOCC is to help increase opportunities for families in Los Angeles County to move from poverty to self-sufficiency through collaborative models of service delivery.
