SPECIAL INTEGRATION INITIATIVES
OVERVIEW
The Special Integration Initiatives Unit assists departments with integrating services in support of the County's Strategic Plan Goal 5: Children and Families' Well-Being. The unit focuses on projects aimed at strengthening multi-agency service integration and manages special projects assigned to the Chief Executive Office that are related to strengthening the health and human services delivery system. Some of the key projects of the unit include: preparing an annual Children and Families Budget; providing support to the Linkages integration effort between the Department of Public Social Services and the Department of Children and Family Services; and reporting on the implementation of the Board-adopted Safe Haven Task Force recommendations for the Safely Surrendered Baby Law.
The unit also provides staff support to the County’s Strategic Plan Goal 1, Strategy 2: Service Excellence. This includes directing the work of the Customer Service and Satisfaction Network (CSSN), which entails monthly meetings and such accomplishments as producing the Customer Service and Satisfaction Training Video (SMILE); distributing the Customer Service and Satisfaction Standards in eight threshold languages; and conducting the 2004 and 2006 Customer Satisfaction Surveys. Additional support to the Service Integration Action Plan Projects includes Principles for Partnering and Most Commonly Requested Documents (MCRD).
