BOARD APPROVES MAJOR FUNDING FOR HOMELESS
Approximately $100 million of new funding will go toward homeless programs in the next year, due to a recent vote of the Board of Supervisors. The effort will connect homeless persons to appropriate supportive services, as well as provide funding to leverage with other resources to provide emergency, transitional and permanent housing throughout the County. HOMELESS AND HOUSING PROGRAM FUND REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP)
The Community Development Commission (CDC) of the County of Los Angeles is requesting proposals for its capital development and service programs for the homeless. The deadline to submit proposals is Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2007 at 3 p.m. This will include the development of permanent, transitional and emergency housing and service programs to address homelessness or populations at risk of homelessness. The CDC will award contracts on a yearly basis with the option of extension, provided services are satisfactory and funds are available. For information on the RFP, click here.
