Mission of the Inclusion Work Group To ensure the identification, early intervention and inclusion of children at risk for and with disabilities and other special needs in high quality child care and development programs in Los Angeles County. Goals of the Inclusion Work Group
Inclusion Work Group Membership Membership in the Inclusion Work Group is comprised of members of the Child Care Planning Committee and is open to individuals interested in working towards its mission and goals. For information on becoming a member and participating, contact the Office of Child Care by e-mail at sib_occ@ceo.lacounty.gov or by telephone at (213) 974-4103. The Child Care Planning Committee’s Inclusion Work Group is pleased to offer this Web-based directory of links to resources for identifying and intervening early with children at risk for or with developmental delays, disabilities or other special needs. While the two pathways – For Professionals; and For Families – are designed to meet the particular needs of the respective group, professionals and family members are encouraged to visit both. The resources at each pathway are organized under broad categories, which can be easily accessed by clicking on the table of the contents links located at the top of the selected pathway page. Each resource contains a very brief summary with a direct link to that resource’s Web site, where the visitor may find a wealth of information and resources, such as fact sheets and tools, including checklists, interactive screening tools, and advocacy materials. In certain instances, we have provided direct links to documents, fact sheets, and checklists that may be of interest and that might otherwise be difficult to locate. A couple of notes about the listing of organizations: First, this is not an exhaustive list of resources, yet many offer links to additional resources. Second, posting of any organization and link is not intended as an endorsement, rather as a means to familiarize professionals and families with the array of resources and facilitate access to the resource and their services. The Inclusion Work Group hopes that you find the Web pages helpful and will visit often. If you have any comments or updates relating to the Web pages, please contact: Office of Child Care |
