Mission
The mission of the Policy Roundtable for Child Care is to serve as the official County body on all matters relating to child care, working in collaboration with the Child Care Planning Committee and the Children’s Planning Council, to strengthen the child care system and infrastructure in the County by providing policy recommendations to the Board.

Membership
The Policy Roundtable for Child Care (Roundtable) was established by the County of Los Angeles Board of Supervisors on March 21, 2001. There are 22 Commission members, including 12 organizational representatives and 10 supervisorial representatives. All Commissioners are appointed by the Board of Supervisors for their background, knowledge, expertise and/or experience in child care, early childhood education, or child development fields. Each member may serve up to four years.

Roundtable meetings are open to the public. Roundtable Committees
The Roundtable makes use of committees to delve into emerging policy issues and trends. In addition, the Roundtable participates in a joint committee with the Child Care Planning Committee to address federal, state and local policy legislative issues.
Joint Committee on Legislation
The Roundtable and the Child Care Planning Committee formed this joint committee to focus on federal, state and local policy initiatives as they impact the County of Los Angeles and child care and development services available for Los Angeles County families.
