County Legislative Agendas and Updates – Each year the Los Angeles County Child Care Planning Committee (Planning Committee) and the Policy Roundtable for Child Care (Roundtable) prepare a public policy platform that reflects current and emerging policy issues in early care and education. The public policy platform items form the basis for the County’s State Legislative Agenda items relating to “child care and child development” and contributes to items on early care and education built into the County’s Federal Agenda. State Policy Updates – Keep apprised of state legislative and budget policy issues impacting the field of child care and development in Los Angeles County. Materials include policy briefs on the Governor’s budget proposals, fact sheets summarizing potential impacts on the children and families of Los Angeles County and the programs that serve them, and positions on legislation adopted by the Board of Supervisors.
Federal Policy Updates – Stay informed of key federal legislation and budget proposals for early care and education and related services.
Additional Resources and Advocacy Tools – Links to various organizations that closely monitor and promote action in response to budgets and legislation proposed at the state and/or federal level. A number of organizations also offer research and emerging practices that are useful for informing advocacy responses. Additionally, links are provided to help you locate your state and federal representatives.
