Inaugural Incubation Academy Class: Building the Alternatives to Incarceration

Inaugural Incubation Academy Class: Building the Alternatives to Incarceration 1024 576 Los Angeles County

The first cohort of the ATI Incubation Academy gathered recently to celebrate their completion of the program.

The Los Angeles County Incubation Academy provides training, funding, and technical assistance to new and existing community-based organizations, especially those that serve underrepresented and justice-involved people.

The 20 organizations in the inaugural cohort are part of the effort to build the capacity of service providers. This is foundational to justice reform efforts countywide and the County’s vision Care First, Jails Last.

In the  first cohort:

  • 90% have BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ or previously incarcerated leadership
  • 95% provide housing and other reentry services in high-needs areas
  • 64%  are small organizations with 10 or fewer full-time employees.
