Selection & Member Roster
The Board provided specific parameters around the creation and constitution of the Advisory Committee. The Advisory Committee is comprised of the following members:
- Board appointees (5);
- County department leads (5);
- Individuals with justice system experience (5) including at minimum one with juvenile experience; and
- Labor representatives (2).
Members with justice system experience are chosen through a transparent random selection process. Advisory Committee members serve two-year terms, except for department leads who serve at the pleasure of their department leadership. The first term will end on September 30, 2022, with new appointees or member extensions in place by October 31, 2022, and by the same dates every two years ongoing. Selection of members with lived experiences will take place in time for members to be seated as Advisory Committee members to begin work on spending recommendations.
