Employee Relations

Employee Relations conducts negotiations with the majority representatives of the 54 bargaining units as well as two fringe benefits units certified by the Employee Relations Commission (ERCOM), under the direction and within the scope of authority granted by the Board of Supervisors.

In addition, Employee Relations administers memoranda of Understanding and provides advice to County management on contract interpretation, consults with union representatives as necessary on matters affecting wages, hours, and working conditions of represented employees and represents the County in ERCOM in arbitrations, unfair employee relations practices, impasses, mediation, fact-finding, and other matters under the Commission’s jurisdiction.
